Welcome to Meridia ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using our website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Description of the Service

Meridia is a living atlas of positive news from around the world. We aggregate, curate, and display uplifting news articles on an interactive map organized into categories such as Environment, Science, Community, Health, Technology, and more.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

3. Accounts

To access certain features, you may create an account using your email address or a third-party sign-in provider (such as Google or Apple). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information when creating your account
  • Keep your login credentials secure
  • Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

The Service, including its design, code, and original content, is owned by Meridia and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. News articles displayed on the Service are attributed to their original sources and remain the property of their respective publishers.

The Service may integrate with third-party services, including authentication providers (Google, Apple), analytics, and news APIs. Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

8. API Access

If we provide you with API access, you agree to use it in accordance with any applicable rate limits and usage guidelines. We reserve the right to revoke API access at our discretion.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the news content displayed. We make no warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Meridia shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, opportunities, reputation, or profits arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated Terms on the Service with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Czech Republic, without regard to conflict of law principles. For users in the European Union, nothing in these Terms affects your rights under applicable EU consumer protection law.
