When Amanda Serrano steps into the ring on 21 August, she won't just be defending her titles — she'll be making history again.

The 37-year-old Puerto Rican boxing champion will face Argentina's Lucrecia Manzur at the Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California, putting her unified WBA and WBO world featherweight titles on the line. But this fight carries extra weight: Serrano is one knockout away from breaking the record for the most knockouts in women's boxing history.

In May, Serrano tied that historic record at 32 knockouts when she stopped Cheyenne Hanson in the second round in Texas. If she beats Manzur, she'll stand alone as the most dangerous puncher in women's boxing history.

This bout isn't just about records, though. It's also breaking new ground in how boxing reaches fans. The Serrano-Manzur fight will be the first unified women's world title contest contested over 12 two-minute rounds, and the first championship boxing event ever broadcast on TikTok Live. That means millions of viewers who might never have watched boxing could discover the sport through their phones.

"I've dedicated my career to creating opportunities for women's boxing and bringing our sport to the biggest stages possible," Serrano said. "Women's boxing deserves to be seen by as many people around the world as possible, and this partnership gives us the chance to introduce our sport to a massive global audience in a completely new way."

Serrano is no stranger to making history. She's Puerto Rico's first undisputed world champion and holds the WBO, WBA, and Ring Magazine titles, making her the most decorated fighter in women's boxing history. Her career record stands at 49 wins, four losses, and one draw, with 32 of those wins coming by knockout.

Manzur, 27, carries a record of 14 wins and four losses with seven knockouts. For her, this fight is a dream finally coming true.

"Ever since I started boxing, I've dreamed of fighting for a world title," Manzur said. "I have tremendous respect for everything Amanda has accomplished and for the legacy she has built. But once we step into the ring, my focus is on winning."

Also on the card, US Olympian Jahmal Harvey will take on Mexico's Hammet Keb in a six-round lightweight bout. But all eyes will be on Serrano, a fighter who keeps pushing the sport forward.
