Irrigation’s climate benefit could equal 363 years of its own emissions

Irrigation in the US creates some emissions, but it also lets farmers grow more food on less land. That avoids clearing natural land, stopping 6.86 gigatons of greenhouse gases — about 363 years of irrigation's own pollution.
